Kiri McKenna

Kiri has joined Matakohe as a principal architect and leads our architecture department. She has a background working in residential architecture design and completed her studies at UNITEC (in Auckland). She holds a Bachelor of Architectural Studies, and a Master of Architecture (prof), with distinction in design. She spent a semester of her masters studying at CEPT University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. She has also had teaching experience at both UNITEC and The University of Auckland Architecture schools.
Kiri grew up in Hawkes bay and having spent the last decade in Tamaki Makaurau she now lives in Whangārei with her partner. In her spare time she likes creating art, sketching, slowly and experimentally learning jewellery and pottery, social slow bike rides, spending time in nature, and reading novels.
Kiri is interested in architecture that is meaningful, responsible and beautiful.
